Elsie’s cafe is looking even brighter and more welcoming these days. Thanks to the hard work of Jenny, our new manager, and the team of chefs, we have created a new menu with lots of customer favourites like curry and bacon sarnies.
But we have also invested in a panini maker, so we can create quick meals from the haul of bread we get donated every day. In fact, we have a range of snacks, cakes and light lunches so that it is possible to dip in any time from 10-2.30 (Tues, Weds, Thurs).
Thank you for all the positive feedback: the paninis are popular, so too the homemade soups and cakes. We always have vegan options too.
If you are a regular customer, you will notice a new price list: 50p for tea or coffee, £1 for soup or toast and jam, £3 for a main meal which helps us cover our costs. The food is donated from the finest supermarkets.
You will always get a warm welcome from our fantastic team of committed volunteers, and we value the community that has built up around the cafe and its mission to divert food that would have gone to waste. We hope to see you soon!
